BetterPlay Organizes Event About Game Industry Impact in WI

What do Activision, Bethesda Softworks, PUBG Corporation, Sony, Epic Games, Respawn Entertainment, Filament Games and Lost Boys Interactive have in common? They all have studios and offices in WI. WI is emerging as a powerhouse in videogame development. Problem is, few business leaders, policy makers, or local tech veterans really understand the potential. In a state known for focusing on manufacturing and food production, the video game industry is opening up a bright future forward for the dairy state. So BetterPlay Studios has joined together with our partners at Godfrey and Khan to hold a discussion about the rise of the gaming industry in WI.

Here are the details: OCTOBER 19th - 833 E Michigan St #1800, Milwaukee, WI 53202

  • 4:00 Arrival/Refreshments

  • 4:30 15 Minute Power Talks: Ben Kvalo (CEO of Midwest Games) tells us about the impact of games on the region, Jennifer Javornik (Chief Partnership Officer at Filament Games) discusses how companies and orgs are using video games to help people, and Brandon Tschacher (Founder of MKE Esports Alliance) informs about the rise of esports in WI.

  • 5:15 Interactive Panel: Michael Sapiro of BetterPlay Studios and industry legend Tim Gerritsen of Lost Boys Interactive panel about what it is like for new vs established development companies in WI.

  • 5:30 Network and Refreshments

The whole event is hosted in Godfrey and Khan's beautiful downtown Milwaukee events space overlooking Lake Michigan.

And to our friends in the state of MI, we're bringing this discussion across the lake in another event later this year TBA. Stay tuned or drop us a line if interested!
