KOZEE Favorites: "Fall" in Love With These Games This Season

Writer's picture: Olivia FarrellOlivia Farrell

That crisp air is starting to move in after a fairly long stint of warm weather here in the states. However, that led us to decide that there would be no better time to drop our fall favorites.

...And to make it more fun I'm going to pair these games with a tasty fall beverage! So sit back, enjoy a treat of your own, and walk with me as I explain to you my most recent hyperfixations.

A Story Beside: Ordinary People Can Be Heroes Too

A favorite of this fall season, especially from a vibes and narrative perspective, has been A Story Beside. Follow the story of Lyric, a innkeeper from humble beginnings that is living her normal life. You experience heartbreaking choices and sweet moments equally, much like we all do. Don't go into this RPG expecting a normal, headstrong hero because you won't find it here. This is the story of a simple, vulnerable woman with a story that we have all experienced before... just maybe not while necessarily running a tavern.

This game was created by David Grund of Wayward Prophet. He was the solo dev on this project and founder of Wayward Prophet, so kudos to him for a such a thoughtful and cozy game.

With that being said... drum roll please. I have my drink pairing for this lovely game!

While you play this lovely, absolutely heartwarming game you should enjoy...

A delicious, warm (or cold), spiced apple cider! While it also looks like it could be a tasteful libation found within a tavern much like the one Lyric runs, it also is the quickest way to warm your soul.

Besides playing this game, of course.

We hope you enjoy this pick! On to the next!

Closer Than You Know: Where Saving Your Planet is One Hope Away

Another game that we've been really happy with here at Kozee is Closer Than You Know. THis game is a classic point and click adventure with a similar look and feel to games like Broken Age and The Secret of Monkey Island. It's certainly a cozy love letter to these sort of point and click games that we all love so much. Play as Sam as she navigates the task of saving her planet in a world where hope is outlawed. Walk through her story as she walks through her life as the hero that she didn't know her planet needed.

This game was created by So Peculiar, LLC and is also the creator of Bugs and Seek, another game on our platform and a positively autumnal game! Check out both of them if you need a chance to wind down after a long day of raking leaves or picking out candles at HomeGoods.

Our fall drink of choice for Closer Than You Know would have to be Golden Milk! Good for the heart, body and soul!

This drink is made with turmeric and various other earthy spices. I figured that this would be a great pick for that exact reason! While Earth is safe for now, I know that this would definitely give me the motivation to save the planet if I ever needed to.

This can be served hot or iced, but if the mug doesn't warm your hands the flavor surely will!

Unlimited Trenga: Summer in October? Why Not!

And finally, as a throw back to our summer months that I'm sure some of us dearly miss, we have Unlimited Trenga! This is a puzzle game set underwater where you complete various levels to help Kate Nemo and her fishy friends. What a great game to warm up to if a hot beverage isn't around. I've always said to the folks at Better Play that this game screams summer and tropical adventures.

This game was created by Flux Games, a leading studio in Brazil that specializes in all things game development. They have an extensive record of fantastic games since 2012, so go check them out after you're done reading here!

With that being said, the drink that I would have to pair with this game given it's summery vibes is...

A classic iced coffee, made however you like! I personally don't like hot drinks so I'm always pro-iced. However, I definitely like the taste of coffee so I tend to lean away from the sugars and move towards a sweeter milk (like french vanilla or a sweet cream).

A close second would definitely be some sort of matcha latte as my choice of a summery/fall drink. However, that's up to you my dear reader and beverage enjoyer!

We hope that you enjoyed this line up of some our favorite, Kozee playable games! Enjoy your fall season and look for our next blog post! If you have any suggestions for content that you'd like to see, feel free to contact me at farrell@betterplaystudios.com!

Have a positively Kozee day, friends!
